Until recently, Gylt (look, stay with it) was confined to Google’s cloud gaming platform Stadia, but Stadia doesn’t exist any more, so this third-person stealth adventure is being unleashed on Steam. You play as Sally, a young girl whose even younger cousin Emily has gone missing. One autumnal evening, Sally gets lost and tries to take the old mining cable car back home – only to discover herself in a weird mirror version of her home town, derelict and abandoned save for shadowy monsters, the likes of which you’d find as models in Forbidden Planet in a cabinet labelled “From The Mind Of Tim Burton”. Sally has few defences save creeping around and shining a powerful torch at the monsters, who don’t like strong li- hey, now my title makes sense!

One game’s end leads to another game’s start in spooky collaborative anthology C.H.A.I.N.G.E.D.
This beautiful summer is in full swing, so what better time to go inside, draw the curtains, and unwind with a weird anthology of spooky indies? Last month, the Haunted PS1 community reunited to release C.H.A.I.N.G.E.D. – a collection of over 30 bizarre shorts, where your choices at the end of one game leads to a different game made by different developers. Each one loosely follows on from the games preceding them, even though they bury past art styles, perspectives, music, and ideas.
Doomblade asks us: what if a weird little gal had a hellsword?
There are games about being a weird little guy, and then there are games about being a weird little gal infused with the power of a vengeful demonic sword. Doomblade is both metal and kind of cute, and it’s held my interest longer than the average platformer or metroidy castley oh my god do we seriously not have a better word for this yet.
The main thing marking it out, apart from its style, is that instead of stabbing monsters, you attack by hovering the cursor (actually the shimmery face of the sword’s spirit) over them and clicking, which launches your little globby shadow man directly at them. You can probably already imagine that this is also a means of getting around the world.

Screenshot Saturday Mondays: Please, is anyone there, is anything left
Hello? Hello? Is anyone out there? If you’re reading this, you must be. If not, hell, I must try to keep on living even if no one’s observing. I’ve not seen my friend’s cat in three days. I don’t know if my friend has a cat anymore. I don’t know if I have a friend anymore. All I know is that Twitter’s collapse has accelerated. But this was once a weekly column highlighting attractive and interesting indie games from Twitter’s #screenshotsaturday tag, and maybe it still is, or maybe it will be again. For now, come check out these games, if you can.
What’s your best game idea that will (probably) never get made?
When you spend so much time playing video games, it can be sometimes hard not to occasionally muse, “What if there were a game that…?” Dot dot dot. There’s a wealth of potential in those three dots, and today’s the day to plumb those depths and extract the beautiful nuggets of impossibility within. So, readers, what’s your best game idea that will likely never be made?
Overwatch 2’s story missions might not continue until next year, according to the game’s producer
Despite scrapping the game’s major Hero Mode, Blizzard still want to tell us a few stories through Overwatch 2, starting with the first batch of story missions on August 10th. Unfortunately, we won’t be getting any more PvE missions for the next few seasons, according to the game’s producer, cutting short any potential momentum from the upcoming season’s tale.
Bandai Namco announce Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash anime brawler
The Bandai Namco Showcase at this year’s Anime Expo featured lots of gaming-related goodies, most notably the announcement of Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash, an all-new fighting game based on the popular anime and manga series. Brawls take place in a 3D arena, and happily look to be channeling some chaos from the Naruto Shippuden and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi games. Take a look at the game below.
