As part of the Super Nintendo World experience, Nintendo has a special Power-Up Band that interacts with everything around the park. There’s already a variety of different colours available and soon there’ll be a “limited-edition” one joining the line-up at Universal Studios theme park in Japan. “Warside is the game we have waited for”.
Last year, we covered Warside, a turn-based tactics game which sees you command a cute little pixelated army, which is due to come to Switch in 2023. It gave us major Advance Wars vibes. And today, developer Lavabird Games is finally launching the game’s Kickstarter today!
Looking to capture the spirit of the classic turn-based tactics genre so popular with Intelligent Systems’ series and “evolve” it further. Tactics fans have really been spoilt for choice over the last 12 months, from strategy RPGs to even the return of Advance Wars coming in April. But that hasn’t deterred Lavabird. Wait, they’re humans!?
The Splatoon series has always had a central Idol group for each game — Callie and Marie made up Splatoon‘s Squid Sisters, and Pearl and Marina made up Off the Hook for Splatoon 2. For Splatoon 3, we have Deep Cut, featuring Shiver, Frye, and Big Man — and now we know just how the music of this terrific trio is created.

Is it magical?
The Umbra Witch is back this Friday, but not in the way you might expect. Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is a prequel to PlatinumGames’ hit high-octane action series, but this prequel stars the young witch long before she becomes Bayonetta.
Reviews dropped today and they’re pretty positive for the top-down action-adventure game. The gorgeous storybook graphics and the puzzles have received praise across the board, as have the music and atmosphere. But where do reviews diverge?

Wake up, one last time.
Citizen Sleeper, a tabletop-inspired RPG, completely blew us away last year with its incredible writing, haunting music, and stunning art design. And on 30th March, the story will conclude with its last piece of free DLC with Episode: PURGE.
Following on from the two previous free DLCs — FLUX and REFUGE — PURGE introduces another new character and some additional story to Erlin’s Eye, and will conclude the story of the Sleeper and expand further on the wider narrative of the Helion System, where the game is set. Not much else is known, but we’re sure it’ll be a moving, thought-provoking experience.

An origami queen.
Norwich-based developer Newfangled Games’ upcoming puzzler is a stunning-looking top-down adventure where the world is made out of paper. Paper Trail has a soft colour palette and a unique visual style to it, but rather than just being a visual quirk, you can fold, crease, and change the paper world around you.
Paper Trail is set to launch this year on Switch and all platforms — including a newly-announced Netflix release. In the game, a young girl called Paige (get it?) is leaving home for the first time to study. You’ll need to help Paige by using your paper-craft skills by folding and unfolding the world to make a path.
