Right, the weekend is here again, which means it’s time to see what we’re all going to be playing over the next couple of days. Before we do so, however, let’s recap some of this week’s more interesting goings on the in the world of Nintendo.

Aspyr – the developer behind re-releases on the Switch such as Star Wars: Bounty Hunter and the Tomb Raider trilogy remaster, is currently hosting a sale on the Switch eShop in the US. Minecraft has played host to all sorts of collaborations and crossovers, and the latest one sees SpongeBob Squarepants, Patrick Star and the rest of the gang from Bikini Bottom return in new add-on.

United Label has confirmed that the upcoming hack ‘n’ slash sequel Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter will be launching for the Nintendo Switch in February 2025.
The game was showcased during Microsoft’s Gamescom broadcast, with the new trailer boasting some lovely gameplay footage and an accompanying narration from Witcher voice actor Doug Cockle. Indeed, a quote from the trailer describes the game as “half Witcher, hald Game of Thrones”, so if you’re a fan of either, then you might want to keep an eye out for this one.

Just like the twists and turns of the courtroom, Capcom has today pulled a last-minute “not so fast!” out of its back pocket and dropped an Ace Attorney Investigations Collection free demo on the Switch eShop.
This free preview will give you access to the beginning of both games in the collection — Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth and Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor’s Gambit — and you’ll be able to transfer your well-earned save data over to the full game when it is released on 6th September.

A new Summer range of Balatro merch has been revealed (which, bizarrely, comes just under a month away from Fall, but never mind) and includes a rather fetching Abstract Joker shirt based on a design by developer LocalThunk.
Each shirt is available now for £24.99 (plus shipping), with the full collection consisting of the aforementioned Abstract Joker shirt alongside the Jimbo’s Fish & Chips, You’ve Done Well, Enjoy Joke, and Jimbo Eye Test shirts. Although SNK is currently busy promoting its upcoming release Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, it seems it’s gearing up for the “big” 30th anniversary of its all-star fighting game series, The King of Fighters.
In a brief notice on social media, the official SNK account mentioned how there are now just three days left until the 30th anniversary of the long-running series. The King of Fighters 94 originally made its debut in arcades in 1994, following on from Fatal Fury and other SNK series like Art Of Fighting.
