So, would you?

Nintendo formally announced the Switch 2 last week and while some developers appear to have already locked in their support, other studios are still gauging whether or not to release certain titles on the Switch’s successor.

One of these developers happens to be Moon Studios, with the CEO Thomas Mahler asking on social media if fans of the studio (as well as Ori games and Nintendo platforms) would be interested in the team’s new release, No Rest for the Wicked on Switch 2.

Random: Donkey Kong Country’s Artist Reacts To Nintendo’s Redesign

“Everything changes!”.

We’ve seemingly had our very first look at Mario Kart 9 during the Switch 2 reveal trailer, and one thing you might have noticed is the similar but slightly different-looking character designs.

Perhaps the highlight is Donkey Kong’s new look, which has been labelled a redesign. It’s been a bit of a talking point within the DK and Super Mario fandom, and now we’ve actually got a response from the artist who was behind DK’s modern (and arguably most iconic) look – former Rare and Donkey Kong Country veteran, Kevin Bayliss.

Banjo-Kazooie Has The Potential To “Rival 3D Mario”, Says Ori Dev

If a “really talented developer” has a crack at it.

There was once a time when Banjo-Kazooie was rightly considered to be a close rival to the Super Mario franchise when Rare launched two outstanding entries on N64 in the form of the self-titled debut and its sequel, Banjo-Tooie.

That was a long time ago, though. While Microsoft flirted with idea of growing the franchise in 2008 with the rather divisive Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, the publisher hasn’t touched it in the years since. According to Moon Studios’ (Ori and the Blind Forest, Will of the Wisps) CEO Thomas Mahler on social media, however, this was perhaps the wrong move, and Microsoft may well be sitting on something that could, with the right treatment, rival 3D Mario games on modern consoles (thanks, Pure Xbox):

Analyst States That Switch 2’s Price Won’t “Really Matter” For Early Adopters

“so long as the launch price isn’t some egregious amount”.

The launch price for the Nintendo Switch 2 is, at the time of writing, unknown and will likely remain that way until Nintendo’s big Direct presentation in April.

However, according to Circana (NPD) analyst Mat Piscatella, the eventual price of the console likely won’t matter for the early adopters amongst us. In speaking with GamesRadar+, he stated that as long as the cost of the machine isn’t “egregious”, then it will likely sell.

Guide: Best Lord Of The Rings Games, Ranked – Switch And Nintendo Systems

Every Lord of the Rings game on Nintendo platforms.

One list to rule them all, One list to find them, One list to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them. That’s right, precious, it’s time to rank the Lord of the Rings games on Nintendo platforms.

It began with the forging of the Great Adaptations. One was given to the SNES, immortal, wisest, and fairest of all consoles. Five to the GBA and GameCube, great consoles and pillars of the nostalgia halls. And three, three games were gifted to the DS, which, above all else, needed more power… (Yeah, there was also a bunch on Wii, 3DS, Wii U and Switch, but we wanted to keep the Galadriel thing running as long as possible.)

Vroooom!

Welcome to another edition of Box Art Brawl, everyone!

Last week, Klonoa: Empire of Dreams was thrust into the spotlight, with North America, Europe, and Japan all vying for the top prize (and yes, we mistakenly labelled it as a ‘duel’ – sorry about that). Ultimately, with its bold, simple design, Europe’s offering won the week with 51% of the vote. Japan managed 38%, while the less said about North America’s dire variant, the better.
