The Super Mario Bros. Movie is on everyone’s lips right now. And why? Because it’s a pretty darn big deal. We’ve talked about the movie at length, looking at its Easter eggs to simply just having a chat over a cuppa. But two Nintendo Life staffers still have stuff to get off of their chests, and this is their chance to finally let loose.

Yes, this week finally saw the release of the hotly anticipated Nintendo and Illumination co-production and was it worth the wait? Well, sort of. While we certainly had mixed feelings in our review, the stellar box office is proof of the film’s undeniable mass appeal. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Cowabunga Collection Surpasses One Million Sales

“You all really kicked some shell”.

Following an update to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection earlier this week, Konami has now announced the game has sold more than one million copies since it launched across multiple platforms in August last year.

In a brief message on social media platforms, it shared some fun facts – mentioning how the game’s player base had now defeated 350 million foot soldiers, gobbled up six million pizzas, and “shredded” Shredder’s plans over two million times.

It’s-a tough one.

Lots of us have already seen the long-awaited The Super Mario Bros. Movie and if there is one thing to take away from our initial viewing, it’s that this thing is absolutely jam-packed with Yoshi Easter eggs and references.

We sort of knew that this was going to be the case. Each trailer gave us a taste of what was to come, but nothing could have prepared us for the sheer barrage of nods to Nintendo’s past that would be heading our way each and every second.

Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles Will Sing On Switch In August

Rhapsody II & III make their western debut.

NIS America has revealed that Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles is launching on Switch on 29th August 2023 in North America, 1st September 2023 in Europe, and September 9th in Australia and Oceania.

Announced back in January, Marl Kingdom Chronicles marks the first time that Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess and Rhapsody III: Memories of Marl Kingdom have received a western release. Both games will be getting a full English dub with remastered visuals.

Random: Dr. Mario’s Medical Skills Called Into Question By Shigeru Miyamoto

“Can I trust this person?”.

The creator of Mario and legendary video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto is currently on a whistle-stop tour around the world to promote The Super Mario Bros. Movie. And during this promotional tour, Miyamoto has shared his thoughts about one of the plumbers side gigs: Dr. Mario.

In an interview with IGN, the Nintendo legend talks about how the movie has shown us a brand new side of Mario. But as a result, that calls into question the multiple roles Mario has undertaken over the years. Miyamoto specifically singles out Mario’s career as a doctor, which began way back in 1990 on the Game Boy and NES.

Mario Movie Just The Beginning Of Nintendo & Illumination’s “Rewarding Collaboration”

It’s still early days but The Super Mario Bros. Movie is already shaping up to be a huge success based on industry predictions and early box office data.
