The True Runes await.

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard anything about Konami’s collection of classic RPGs, Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars. But, if a recent rating in Taiwan is anything to go by, we might not have much longer to wait before the duology hits Switch.

Gematsu spotted the rating and shared it over on Twitter (thanks to our sibling site Push Square for spotting this), and it reveals that the collection — which contains the PS1 RPGs Suikoden and Suikoden II — was just rated in Taiwan the other day.

Ganondilf.

In something we didn’t think we’d be writing today, everyone thinks Ganondorf in the new The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom trailer is pretty smoking hot. VG247 brought this to our attention, and now it’s our job to share this revelation with you.

If you haven’t watched the final pre-launch trailer yet, then you might be a little bit confused. Before today, we’ve only seen the Demon King as a rather “unhydrated”, bone-y looking being. But as of today, we’ve seen him in the flesh — literally.

Super Mario Bros. Theme Is The First Video Game Track Added To The Library Of Congress

Let’s-a go to the National Recording Registry!

The US Library of Congress has today announced the 25 tracks that will be added to its National Recording Registry as “defining sounds of the nation’s history and culture”. For the first time ever, one of these tracks comes from a video game, and it is none other than Koji Kondo’s iconic theme from 1985’s Super Mario Bros. that is leading the way (thanks, Gizmodo).

Joining the likes of Madonna’s ‘Like a Virgin’ and Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ in the class of 2023, the Super Mario Bros. theme’s inclusion is a huge stepping stone for video game music. In its announcement tweet (below) the Library of Congress stated that the track was “probably the most recognisable in history”, and we struggle to disagree.
