Last weekend saw the opening qualifiers for Nintendo’s official Splatoon 3 Championship 2023, pitting some of the world’s best splatters against each other to see who would come out on top.

A part of the ‘Nintendo Vs’ lineup, this opening event saw four teams facing off across several different game modes — Splat Zones, Tower Control, Clam Blitz and Rainmaker — in an attempt to win a spot at the Splatoon 3 Championship 2023. The teams making an appearance in this round are Jackpot, Starburst, Last Resort and Duck Gang, each battling for the two qualifying spots.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is pretty darn scary.

I don’t mean in the same sense that Majora’s Mask is unsettling for its whole run-time, and there certainly isn’t a moment like that cutscene in Twilight Princess. But even now with my ridiculously overpowered, full hearts Link, Tears of the Kingdom has me on the edge of my seat more than any other Zelda game.

Super Mario Bros. Movie Steelbook Already Being Shipped Out (US)

It’s happening!

The Super Mario Movie made its digital debut last month, so when can we expect to see the physical version arrive?

Following a supposed leak that suggested the Steelbook release would be arriving on 6th June 2023, it seems some Mario fans in the US have already secured their copy. According to reports, a weekly ad by the retailer Target also seems to indicate it will be a Tuesday release next week.

Stardew Valley Creator Seemingly Teases Next Big Update

Is an “iridium scythe” on the way?

We’ve known for some time now that there’s a Stardew Valley Version 1.6 on the way, and it seems the creator Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone has now teased some new information about it.

In an update on social media, the indie game developer simply shared a message mentioning “iridium scythe” – and it’s sent many fans into a frenzy. This is currently the only tool in the game that can’t be upgraded to the highest tier.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line Scores A New Chrono Game Update Next Week

Square Enix’s rhythm game Theatrhythm Final Bar Line will be getting another update on 7th June next week, adding the Chrono-themed Vol. 2 game pack.

Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Character Purah Gets Transformed Into A VTuber

“Everyone LOVES Purah”.

We’ve already seen some VTuber-inspired Nintendo character designs in the Fire Emblem series before, and now Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is up.

Reddit user ‘Capn_Cinnamon’ (as well as Twitch streamer ‘MonikaCinnyRoll‘) has shown off their “rigging skills” by attaching face tracking to the “Head of Lookout Landing” Purah. Again, it’s based on her latest character model (so not her older look as seen in Breath of the Wild) and features a backdrop of her workshop from Tears of the Kingdom.

Well, folks, another week has come and gone. In terms of straight-up news, it was undoubtedly a bit of a quiet one… until it wasn’t! Yes, at the tail-end of the week, Nintendo decided to announce Everybody 1-2 Switch!, a sequel to the polarising launch game, 1-2 Switch!, launching on June 30th, 2023.

Grant Kirkhope Appears To Have Completed His Work On Mario + Rabbids

“8 years writing music for Mario is at an end”.

Legendary video game composer Grant Kirkhope, known for hits like GoldenEye 007 and Donkey Kong 64, appears to have completed his work on Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

In a brief message on social media at the start of this month, Kirkhope mentioned how he thought his time writing music for Mario was “at an end” after 8 years, signing off by saying he was “going to miss” Nintendo’s famous mascot:
