Random: Amy Is No Longer The Damsel In Distress In Sonic Origins Plus Clip

“It’s time to rewrite the story”.

Amy has been getting a lot of well-deserved love in the run-up to Sonic Origins Plus‘ release at the end of the week. And Sega has released a fun little clip on Twitter, saying that it will “rewrite the story” of the beloved Sonic character.

As we all know, Amy made her debut in Sonic CD on the Sega CD back in 1993 as Sonic’s “self-proclaimed girlfriend”. And of course, Amy ends up getting kidnapped by Metal Sonic, with Sonic saving the pink hedgehog towards the end of the game.

Square Enix Announces Octopath Traveler 5th Anniversary Broadcast, Airing Next Month

The sequel released on Switch earlier this year.

Square Enix has announced it will host a special 5th anniversary live stream for its HD-2D RPG Octopath Traveler.

This event will take place next month on 13th July at 8 pm JST and will apparently include a “memorial corner” reflecting on the history of the series, the results of a user survey, and also feature SE producer Masashi Takahashi and Acquire director Keisuke Miyauchi.

Nintendo’s New York Store Announces Nintendo Direct Livestream

“First-come, first-served”.

As part of the Nintendo Direct celebrations, Nintendo’s New York store has announced it will be airing the livestream on-site.

It will be on a “first-come, first-served basis” so if you happen to be located in this area or can make the trip in – be mindful of this. The broadcast will get underway on 21st June 2023 at 10AM ET local time.

Feature: Our Predictions For The June 2023 Nintendo Direct

Mario? Persona? Silksong?

Welp, it’s that time again folks. Another Nintendo Direct is almost upon us, with the latest showcase broadcasting on June 21st, 2023 at 3pm BST / 4pm CEST / 7am PT / 10am ET / Wednesday 12am AET.

The Direct is said to be “roughly 40 minutes” in length and will focus mostly on games releasing this year, including Pikmin 4. We’ll get into a bit more detail shortly, but we’re also expecting to see the likes of Everybody 1-2-Switch and Master Detective Archives: Rain Code.

Random: Some Square Enix Staff Really Want A Final Fantasy VI Remake

But it would be “difficult”, says Square Enix VP.

We’ve already got Final Fantasy VI on modern consoles thanks to the Pixel Remaster, but what if Square Enix decided to remake its beloved 1994 RPG? Apparently, some staff at the studio want to see it, according to vice president and Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase (via @Genki_JPN).

To celebrate the Final Fantasy series’ 35th anniversary, Square Enix hosted a roundtable discussion (on YouTube) on the Pixel Remasters and the franchise, featuring Kitase alongside the “father of Final Fantasy” Hironobu Sakaguchi and artist Kazuko Shibuya. During the chat, Kitase addresses the question of a Final Fantasy VI remake, which has been kindly translated by Genki on Twitter:

Chocobo GP Switch eShop Page Updated With New Release Date

Following the removal of the “Lite” version & Mythril Shop.

At the end of last year, Square Enix announced its racing title Chocobo GP would receive “no further large scale updates” and that it would discontinue sales of the paid currency Mythril in January 2023, which allowed players to spend real money to unlock additional content.
