Soapbox: Getting The Master Sword In Tears Of The Kingdom Is Zelda At Its Best

Once more, with Fi-ling.

Soapbox features enable our individual writers and contributors to voice their opinions on hot topics and random stuff they’ve been chewing over. Today, Jim gushes over the moment you retrieve the legendary sword in the newest Zelda game…

There were several moments in my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom where I would put the controller down, bring my hands to my head, and sit beaming at the screen. The opening dive to the Great Sky Island as the title appears; the music during the Wind Temple boss fight; the first time I bypassed a puzzle by strapping two rockets to a plank of wood and sent Link rag-dolling towards his goal.

Random: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Devs “Too Occupied” To Play Elden Ring

“Even if we had the time to play games, we wouldn’t reuse ideas from them”.

When The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom dropped nearly two months ago (it really has been two months), a few comparisons were drawn between this highly-anticipated sequel and FromSoftware’s 2022 title, Elden Ring, mainly because of one new — huge — area in Hyrule. Feature: A Brief History Of Romance Of The Three Kingdoms, The Series That Spawned Dynasty Warriors

Sangokushi, from NES to Switch.

It is the third century AD and war rages across the region that would one day become China. To the north, the Cao Wei state has been founded, led by Cao Pi after the death of his father.
