First Minecraft Movie Trailer Features Creepers, Piglins And Jack Black’s Steve

Blocked.

After years of casting rumours and speculation, we finally have our first official look at the live-action Minecraft movie — or ‘A Minecraft Movie‘, to give it its official title — and it looks… well, about as horrifying as you’d think a live-action Minecraft movie would be.

Releasing in cinemas on 4th April 2025, the film sees a group of ordinary humans (played by Jason Mamoa, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, Emma Myres and Danielle Brooks) pulled into Mojang’s blocky world thanks to a mysterious portal. There, they meet “expert crafter” Jack Black sorry, Steve, who will have to help them make their way home.

Review: Pizza Tower (Switch) – An Ingenious Platformer That Beats Wario At His Own Game

Wario would be proud.

Nintendo’s Wario Land series has always occupied a unique niche in the company’s extensive catalogue with its weird humour and unconventional approach to platforming tropes, which is why fans have been greatly let down by the fact that there hasn’t been a new entry in over 15 years. To fill the gap, an indie team called Tour De Pizza came out early last year with its own spiritual successor called Pizza Tower, offering a polished and thrilling adventure into a truly insane food-themed world. Since release, Pizza Tower has quickly built up a high reputation for its creativity and gameplay design, and now that it’s come to Switch, we’re pleased to report that it is indeed a fantastic platformer.

Pizza Tower places you in the role of Peppino Spaghetti, the chef and owner of a failing pizzeria who finds himself threatened by an evil sentient pizza named Pizzaface who lives nearby in the titular tower. Pizzaface has a laser on top of the tower which he’s going to use to destroy Peppino’s pizzeria, so our daring chef dashes off to climb the tower and destroy the evil pizza and his minions once and for all.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership Trailer Welcomes You To Concordia

Greetings!

Wowie zowie! Wrong Mario game, we know, but there’s been quite a deluge of Mario & Luigi: Brothership details over the last 24 hours. After last night’s new screenshots, Nintendo has dropped a brief but delightful new trailer for the upcoming RPG.

Feature: Blasphemous Devs Talk Switching From Metroidvania To RTS Stealth In ‘The Stone Of Madness’

“Failing is part of what makes this game fun”.

The Game Kitchen has been cookin’ good. With Blasphemous and Blasphemous 2, the Spanish developer quickly gained a stellar reputation thanks to some of the best Metroidvanias to emerge in recent years. Their prickly difficulty, moody gothic vibes, and disconcerting take on Andalucian Catholic folklore didn’t stop us from adoring both of The Penitent One’s challenging misadventures in Cvstodia.

With recently announced RTS stealth title The Stone of Madness, we’re set for a surprising change of pace if our recent Gamescom preview is anything to go by. Blasphemous’ high-stakes 2D combat is replaced by methodical exploration of a hand-painted monastery asylum that affords as much experimentation as its watchful guards will allow over the days, or even weeks, leading up to your freedom.

Random: Sakurai Used To Invite Devs’ Children To Play Test Upcoming Games

“you’ll always get their honest reactions”.

Here’s your wholesome story of the day, folks. According to Masahiro Sakurai’s latest YouTube video, the creator used to invite fellow developers’ children to the office to play test upcoming games.

Describing children as “the purest of the pure”, Sakurai states that allowing them to play a game that’s still in development would yield honest feedback that can help drive the team forward. Rather than asking the children directly on what they thought of the game, Sakurai would merely observe their bahaviour from a distance, making note of anything they happened to struggle with, along with moments that provided joy.
