Mortal Kombat 1 Unveils Returning Characters & More Kameo Fighters

Goro has got your back.

Mortal Kombat 1 has just revealed the official Kombat Pack roster DLC, but that’s not all – there’s also a brand new story trailer.

This focuses on the returning playable fighter Li Mei and the Umgadi warriors. It’s also confirmed Tanya and Baraka are back. And if that wasn’t already enough, Goro and Darrius have been unveiled as Kameo fighters. These fighters, in case you missed it, will assist you in battle and “expand gameplay possibilities”.

We have crossed the two-month mark since The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom entered our lives, and what a two months it has been. It will come as no surprise that those opening days were filled to the brim with exploration, wonder and a fair few tears of our own, but now that we have had a chance to get past the initial excitement, are we all still on board?

Our wonderful video team have come together to share their thoughts on the TOTK journey so far after putting over 100 hours into the Hyrule exploration each. Marvelous Europe has shared a brand new trailer for the upcoming Rune Factory 3 Special on Switch, this time showcasing all of the bachelorettes you’ll be meeting when you’re not tending to your farm or exploring dungeons.

There are a fair few to choose from too, including Shara, Raven, Marian, Collette, Carmen, Pia, Daria, Sakuya, Sofia, Karina, and Kuruna. Of course, those who have played the DS original will know all this, as the Switch version is essentially a remaster boasting improved visuals and redesigned 3D character models.

Reminder: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Xenoblade Chronicles amiibo Are Out Today

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate ended its DLC fighter releases a while ago now, but Nintendo is still actually busy releasing the amiibo series.

Miyamoto Considers Pikmin To Be Nintendo’s “Most Global Characters”

And the favourite child is…

Nintendo has today published the final part of its Ask the Developer interview series focused on Pikmin 4, and this one saw the development team open up about their personal thoughts on the franchise as a whole.

It should come as no surprise that Shigeru Miyamoto had some thoughts to share on his relationship to the Pikmin series — the games have long been considered something of a “favourite child” for the legendary designer, after all — and his answers did not disappoint. Speaking about what Pikmin means to him, Miyamoto confessed that he considers the adorable plant species to be “Nintendo’s most global characters” and he wants players to have a real sense that the creatures could exist in the everyday world:

Link, Mario, Samus, a whole hoard of beautiful folk from the Fire Emblem series. We all love a good hero and Nintendo has become pretty darn great at creating them. You know what we all love more than a good hero though? A good boy.

We are, of course, talking about dogs. Regardless of whether you are a ‘dog person’ or a ‘cat person’ (team Nintendo Life seems to be an even 50/50 split), there is no denying a pup’s goodness. Regardless of the dog’s training, obedience or, indeed, sex, we dog-loving humans throw out the phrase “what a good boy” at near enough every pooch we meet. And yes, that includes ones that we come across in games.
