Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom’s Thunderous Callback To The Great Sky Island Is Perfect

I will preface all of this with a thank you to every Zelda fan on social media. The Nintendo Switch has just given us the long-awaited Pikmin 4 which has broken series sales records in Japan, so it’s beginning to get there. Not only that, but the console is also now home to the entire mainline Pikmin series (Hey! Pikmin would like to have a word), and the little Pikmin have cleverly found their way into the Mario-centric theme park, Super Nintendo World.

The original game launched on GameCube back in 2001, and since then we’ve seen three mainline sequels and a couple of Pikmin spin-offs, not to mention re-releases and remastered versions with different control options and other features.
