Lost Pokémon Browser Game Has Been Archived And Is Fully Playable

Who remembers Pokémon 2000 Adventure, then?

In a big win for preservation, a lost Pokémon browser game has been restored and is now fully playable online, thanks to DidYouKnowGaming.

Pokémon 2000 Adventure was developed by Cyberworld International Corporation, which was a client of Warner Bros., and was released to tie in with the movie Pokémon the Movie 2000. As reported in DYKG’s video on the subject, Nintendo gave Warner Bros. permission to create officially licensed products to help promote the second Pokémon movie — so Warner Bros. of course commissioned for Cyberworld to create a game in their QBORG engine, following on from the success of their Harry Potter-based browser game.

Soapbox: Can You Really ‘Spoil’ A Mario Game?

I Wonder what will happen….

Soapbox features enable our individual writers and contributors to voice their opinions on hot topics and random stuff they’ve been chewing over. Today, Kevin ponders if it’s even possible to spoil a game about a tubby plumber who jumps around a lot…

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is right around the corner, and I think I speak for just about all of us when I say that I am very excited. When a Wonder-dedicated Nintendo Direct was announced last month, said to preview the upcoming game’s features and gameplay more in-depth, I debated on whether or not I should even watch it. After all, it’s almost here, isn’t it? Is it worth ‘spoiling’ my appetite?

New Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Update Will Be Targeting Select Bugs Next Month

Bye bye, missed victories.

A new update is in the works for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and while it may not quite be the drastic problem-solving patch that many of us are still hoping for, it looks like at least some bugs will be the target of the upcoming improvements (thanks, Serebii.net).

It looks like the main issue being tackled this time around has to do with a bug that prevented trainer battle victories from being recorded. This meant that it was difficult — if not impossible — to collect rewards from the likes of Paldea’s League Officials or the Kitikami Ogre Clan in The Teal Mask. The update will also set out to fix a problem where players could not deposit special Pokémon GO catches into their Scarlet and Violet saves.

Mortal Kombat Tried To Get John Wick But Had No Luck

Just imagine Keanu Reeves in Mortal Kombat 1.

The Mortal Kombat series has had a lot of movie and celebrity crossovers throughout the years and the latest game Mortal Kombat 1 is no different with a cameo from Jean-Claude Van Damme and voice work by Megan Fox.

We’ve also seen characters like Terminator and Robocop, but one that apparently continues to elude Ed Boon and his team is the retired assassin John Wick, played by the one and only Keanu Reeves. Although this character has been featured in games like Fortnite, standalone titles, and the actor himself has shown up in Cyberpunk 2077 as Johnny Silverhand, unfortunately, NetherRealm didn’t have any luck securing him.

Guide: Best F-Zero Games Of All Time

Every F-Zero, as ranked by you.

Were it not for Nintendo’s monumentally successful Mario Kart franchise, there’s a good chance that F-Zero could have become the go-to racing franchise on not just Nintendo platforms, but everywhere. It really is that good, you know.

Trading bananas and shells for pure speed and boost abilities, F-Zero — which predated Mario’s karting debut by 21 months — is a much more demanding racer than Mario Kart has ever claimed to be. As such, its widespread appeal has been a tad more limited, with Nintendo struggling to find a place for the series since the GBA’s Japan-only F-Zero Climax in 2004.

Random: Kirby’s Dream Land Is All About Being “Kind To Beginners”, Says Sakurai

A new challenge approaches.

Everyone’s favourite game developer-turned-YouTuber Masahiro Sakurai is back with another entry in his Creating Games series, and his latest video once again sees Kirby’s Dream Land take centre stage.

This time, Sakurai uses the classic Game Boy title to discuss the level of difficulty in video games and how it needs to be balanced so that the reward matches the risk. Kirby’s Dream Land gives you extra lives, the ability to fly and a good attack range among other things which in turn reduces the game’s ‘essence’ but increases its broad appeal — anyone can have a crack at a Kirby game, and that’s the point.

“Getting Nintendo would be a career moment”.
