Random: AMOLED 3DS Concept Shown Off At Tokyo Game Show 2023

Over at the Tokyo Game Show this week, Japanese hardware firm Tassei Denki has been showing off some hardware prototypes that could potentially give us a glimpse into the near future. One of these is of particular interest to us and appears to be a new concept for the Nintendo 3DS.

The two units on display are powered by Ryzen and are presumably emulating 3DS titles for the purposes of the demonstration. They both boast 6-inch screens with a 1080p AMOLED display and are capable of running games at 90Hz.

Monster Hunter Gearing Up For 20th Anniversary, New Artwork Revealed

Capcom might be up to something…

Development on Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak officially wrapped some time ago, and now it seems Capcom is gearing up for a big 20th anniversary, which will take place in March 2024.

As part of its Tokyo Game Show 2023 online program, the Japanese video game company shared a new piece of anniversary artwork featuring what appears to be a brand new hunter alongside hunters from past entries in the series. It’s also released a new logo (thanks, Siliconera).

Japanese Charts: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Gets Slight Boost From DLC Release

But there’s no stopping Pikmin 4.

It’s time to cover the weekly Japanese charts once again. The latest figures from Famitsu (via Gematsu) have come in, and the Switch is back to filling out all spots in the top ten.

Pikmin 4 is incredibly still at number one, selling another steady 23,489 units in the week of 11th to 17th September. It’s now just shy of shifting 850,000 physical copies in Japan alone. Pokémon Scarlet & Violet — a mainstay in the JP charts since its release last year — has jumped up a few places to third, shifting 9,319 units, likely due to the release of the first half of the Expansion pass, The Teal Mask.

Nintendo Launches 2D Mario Switch Online Missions Next Week (Australia)

The first one begins 25th September.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder arrives on the Switch next month, and in the lead-up, Nintendo is planning on offering some exclusive missions to Switch Online members located in Australia and New Zealand.

As highlighted by Vooks.net, these missions focus on Mario’s classic 2D adventures – with the first mission scheduled to start on 25th September. There will then be a new mission every week until 22nd October and Nintendo will share more details about what to expect in the near future.

Lost Pokémon Browser Game Has Been Archived And Is Fully Playable

Who remembers Pokémon 2000 Adventure, then?

In a big win for preservation, a lost Pokémon browser game has been restored and is now fully playable online, thanks to DidYouKnowGaming.

Pokémon 2000 Adventure was developed by Cyberworld International Corporation, which was a client of Warner Bros., and was released to tie in with the movie Pokémon the Movie 2000. As reported in DYKG’s video on the subject, Nintendo gave Warner Bros. permission to create officially licensed products to help promote the second Pokémon movie — so Warner Bros. of course commissioned for Cyberworld to create a game in their QBORG engine, following on from the success of their Harry Potter-based browser game.
