Hands On: WarioWare Move It! Takes Us Right Back To A Wii Classic

A smooth transition.

The return of Wario’s manic series on Switch was cause for great celebration back in 2021 (was it really that long ago?), and we absolutely loved the fresh-feeling, multiplayer-focused WarioWare: Get It Together!

For many people, however, the series peaked with the classic Wii outing WarioWare Smooth Moves, and frankly we’re in that camp as well. Madcap microgames are just more fun when you have to make yourself look like a total ninny waving your various body parts about, and WarioWare Move It! attempts to capture that same lightning in a bottle. After having played it for a bit, we the developer Intelligent Systems might have cracked it.

Video: Our Video Producer Hid A Special Nintendo Tribute Inside Sea Of Stars

In his heart, he was a gamer.

Sea of Stars was released over a month ago now, and it’s safe to say that it’ll be featuring on many a gamer’s GOTY list come December. Sabotage’s RPG is a gorgeous, gloriously clever homage to 16-bit classics that manages to modernise things while adding its own unique spirit to the formula.

The game was in development for several years, and back when the project went through a round of crowdfunding, Zion — one of our lovely video team — took the opportunity to have a memorial put in the game’s Crypt. This wouldn’t be just a stock headstone with some vetted text message, but rather a custom-made statue created by the art team according to specific requests and instructions.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder Scores Another Round Of Previews Ahead Of Release

More “first impressions” have arrived.

It’s an exciting month for Nintendo with the launch of Super Mario Bros. Wonder on the 20th of October. We’ve already had a first round of critic impressions and now another batch has arrived.

So far it’s been all praise, and it seems this second round is much the same – with the game being called “magical” and a potential game-of-the-year contender. First of all though, if you haven’t read our own impression of Wonder here on Nintendo Life, check it out in the articles below:

Random: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Gets Fan-Made NES Commercial, And It’s Brilliant

Now you’re playing with wonder.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder definitely isn’t coming out on the NES, but this excellent fan-made commercial almost convinced us that it was.

YouTuber LUIZ do Comercial has created various “fake commercials” for video games, and his latest creation is a work of 8-bit art. Luiz has taken the over-the-top style of ’80s commercial and combined it with actual gameplay of a reimagined Super Mario Bros. Wonder on the NES.

First things first, I would love ‘Switch 2’ to be backwards compatible.

Video: 20 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In October 2023

Mario Wonder! Sonic Superstars! Metal Gear!

Believe it or not, October is finally upon us. Yes, the days are getting shorter and the weather is getting colder, but that doesn’t mean that the release schedule is any less stacked with quality titles making their way to Switch.

Undoubtedly the biggest name heading our way in the next few weeks is Super Mario Bros. Wonder, but October also brings us similarly heavy-hitters like Sonic Superstars and Detective Pikachu Returns as well as gorgeous indies including Wargroove 2 and Dave the Diver.

Review: Mineko’s Night Market – Cosy Fun With A Few Knots In The Fur

This little kitty went to market.

Editor’s Note: As described in the text below, a glitch towards the end of Mineko’s Night Market prevented us from 100% completing the Switch review build. We’re told that the development team is working on fixes, and patches applied pre-launch resolved other issues we initially encountered.

While irritating, the bug didn’t affect our enjoyment up to that point, so we’re publishing this review based on our time with it prior to that late-game issue (approximately 16 hours). We’ll update the review should this problem not be resolved.
