Feature: What Video Game Consultants Actually Do, And Why ‘Kit & Krysta’ Are Doing It

Never A Minute consultants assess our killer game idea.

I have an idea for a video game. Actually, I’ve been making it for about six months now.

My video game is a rhythm-based game. It’s also an American football game. To play it, you choose between plays, just like any sports game … but your play only succeeds if you push the buttons in rhythm with the music. (The other player plays as the defense, and they will be trying to send you the wrong notes, to distract you.) My friend, well, ‘co-developer,’ he’s writing all the music for me.

See how the Switch version holds up.

Borderlands 3: Ultimate Edition is out now on the Nintendo Switch and if you’re curious to know how this version looks alongside a next-generation version, you’ve come to the right place.

The folks at GameXplain have put together a side-by-side graphics comparison of Borderlands 3 on the Switch and the PlayStation 5. Review: Fate/Samurai Remnant – Musou Evolved, With Patchy Switch Performance

Your wish is granted.

For several years, it felt like if you’ve played one of Omega Force’s famed Musou action games, you’ve played them all. It seems the team took note of this souring sentiment, however, resulting in more nuanced takes on the formula in more recent titles such as Fire Emblem: Three Hopes and Persona 5 Strikers (the latter co-developed with P-Studio). It’s continued this push with Fate/Samurai Remnant, a new standalone entry in the sprawling Fate franchise that provides an engaging action RPG experience that can appeal to fans both new and old.

The Fate series has expanded to become a vast and confusing multimedia soup of various canon and non-canon works, which can make following the narrative a rather tricky proposition, but Fate/Samurai’s story can readily be enjoyed both by franchise fans and newcomers. The story takes place in Edo period Japan and primarily follows a young man named Miyamoto Iori, a skilled swordsman who finds himself haplessly dragged into a supernatural conflict called the Waxing Moon Ritual.

Talking Point: What Are Your Hopes For Animal Crossing LEGO?

LEGO to the City.

Following rumours that LEGO was set to team up with Nintendo and unleash Animal Crossing-themed sets on unsuspecting wallets the world over, a short teaser yesterday revealed… well, very little really. But the leaks were true, and Animal Crossing Lego exists! Yes, official Tom Nook and Isabelle minifigs will be available to purchase at some point in the hopefully near future.

It’s been a long time coming. For years, the Lego Ideas scheme — which lets fans submit designs for votes, with any that receive over 10,000 being judged by an official Lego panel with one being selected for production — has received Animal Crossing-themed submissions, and the massive mainstream popularity and cross-generational appeal of New Horizons on Switch made this collaboration feel like a no-brainer. Following the release and success of the Lego Super Mario sets, it was only a matter of time.
