It’s now the time of year when websites round up their overall stats for 2023, and the latest one to share something is Yahoo! Japan. In case you didn’t realise, it’s still going, and in Japan, it’s quite the following.

The search engine has rounded up its “most searched” game of 2023 in Japan and this year The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom took out the top spot. It was followed by Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Pokémon Sleep in third, Pikmin 4 in fourth place, and the miHoYo title Honkai: Star Rail.

Mortal Kombat 1’s Second DLC Fighter Joins The Roster Next Week, Here’s A First Look

Just months after the launch of Mortal Kombat 1, NetherRealm Studios is well underway with the delivery of its Kombat Pack.

Following the launch of Omni-Man recently, the next fighter joining the roster is the Mortal Kombat representative Quan-Chi. He’ll be made available in “early access” starting next week on 14th December. He’ll get a full release on 21st December.

Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Makes The Final 5 Of “Players’ Voice” At The Game Awards

We all know that The Game Awards 2023 is coming on 7th December and that the hotly-contested Game of the Year crown has two Nintendo reps in the top six. But one of those representatives is also duking it out for the Players’ Voice award.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has made it to the final round of the player-voted award alongside four other heavy hitters — Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and last year’s winner, Genshin Impact.

SEGA has announced a Western release date for the next Demon Slayer game, which is a take on the Mario Party formula. Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board! launches on Nintendo Switch on 26th April, 2024, one day after the game lands in Japan.

We’ve also got a brand new trailer to commemorate the release, as well as the reveal of two more boards. Board Two will showcase Tsuzumi Mansion and Mount Natagumo, while Board Three features the Mugen Train.

Balloon Studios is finally opening the doors to Botany Manor on Switch next year. Revealed back in 2022, publisher Whitehorn Games has given us a release window for when we can visit retired botanist Arabella Green’s home — Spring 2024.

Botany Manor is a relaxing puzzle-exploration game where you’ll get to explore an old, dusty manor in the 19th century, which is full of unusual plants and objects. You’ll need to tidy, inspect, and arrange things to your liking to solve many puzzles while also finding out about Arabella’s life.

Jet Force Gemini’s Widescreen Mode Reportedly “Broken” On Switch

“Widescreen mode doesn’t scale correctly”.

Jet Force Gemini made its debut on the new Japanese Switch Online service 18+ app earlier this week, and apparently, the widescreen mode is “broken”.

Nintendo World Report explains how the original N64 release supported a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, but activating it in this latest digital version of the game “does not properly scale the image”.

Epic has announced it’s teaming up with LEGO for LEGO Fortnite (launching 7th December). In addition to this Rocket League developer Psyonix is releasing Rocket Racing in the game (8th December) and last of all is Fornite Festival from the Rock Band team at Harmonix (9th December).
