Here’s what the critics had to say.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet‘s second DLC expansion ‘The Indigo Disk‘ arrived earlier this week and now the reviews are starting to surface online.

If you haven’t already caught our review here on Nintendo Life, we thought this new part took a few steps forward but could still use some work in other areas, awarding it six out of 10 stars:

Fan-Made ‘Link’s Awakening DX HD’ Port Taken Down By Nintendo

It was inevitable…

Remember the stunning The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX PC port we reported about just the other day? Well, it’s sadly no longer.

Nintendo has issued a takedown notice for the fan-made port, and it has now been removed from its itch.io page (thanks to CM30/GamingReinvented!). The HD version of the Game Boy Color version of Link’s Awakening was made by user ‘linksawakeningdxhd’ and added widescreen support, gorgeous HD visuals, and 120fps scrolling.

Hideki Kamiya Reveals Why He Left PlatinumGames

“Without that element of trust, I couldn’t continue working there”.

Earlier this year, Hideki Kamiya shocked his fans by announcing that he would leave PlatinumGames. Now unemployed, he’s spent much of his time watching streaming content and creating YouTube videos, but after sitting down with IGN, we now have a clearer picture of why he left the company.

He’s touched on this before, of course, stating in a previous YouTube video that “I left the company because I wanted to follow my beliefs as a game creator and to choose the path I think is right and move on“. There’s not a lot to go on, admittedly, so this new statement brings a bit more clarity on Platinum’s role in Kamiya’s decision:

Undertale Creator Toby Fox Remixed Ed Sheeran’s Pokémon Song In The New Scarlet & Violet DLC

Fox also composed for the main game.

Remember how the music superstar Ed Sheeran did a song for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet? Well, as highlighted by our friends at VGC, this same song ‘Celestial’ has now been remixed by the Undertale developer Toby Fox in the latest DLC.

As noted by the source, Fox worked on some other music for Scarlet and Violet, and now this new remix is credited “exclusively” to him. You can have a listen in the YouTube video below:

Review: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet – The Indigo Disk (Switch) – Enjoyable But Safe DLC Is Far From A Treasure

That’s why they call it the blues.

What is The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero? That was probably the question on most players’ lips after the Expansion Pass for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet was revealed. Part one, The Teal Mask, was just an appetizer, taking players to a new land in Kitakami and introducing new characters who might just end up being crucial to this final mystery in Paldea. So, with The Indigo Disk finally here, we were excited to find out just what lies at the end of Area Zero. Well, we’re slightly disappointed with the answer.

Area Zero, the final part of the base game, is one of the series’ high points. It’s absolutely wild, and if you haven’t yet beaten Scarlet & Violet, you’re in for a treat. So the prospect of returning to this final area to uncover some hidden secret was always going to be a huge draw. But, because of the way The Indigo Disk plays out, the narrative feels pretty fractured as a result. Fortunately, the new area and many of the new features are fun to play around with.

Guide: LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Fornite Festival – Which Is Best? Everything You Need To Know

(Battle) Royale with cheese.

Fortnite is changing. Of course, this is hardly a new realisation. We distinctly remember when Thanos started popping up and things became a little cash-grabby, or when the map was completely remodelled, or when, out of nowhere, a blooming ‘Creator Mode’ made it a challenge in itself just to find the blasted Battle Royale bit. But the latest change in Fortnite feels different. It feels bigger.

Because Fortnite is no longer just a game with different modes, it’s a platform. And on that platform (the “Fortnite ecosystem” — a name that we still can’t write without squirming) now sits three brand-new games, shoulder to shoulder with Epic’s Battle Royale: Rocket Racing, LEGO Fortnite, and Fortnite Festival.
